A healthy mind in a healthy body

Corona kilos

If you feel good, you look good. But how are you supposed to feel good in times like these, where you can hardly go outside? You are stuck in your bubble, even work is mostly done from home. You get lazy, start eating out of boredom, and yes.... here come the so-called "Corona kilos".

What is the cause?

The cause is not far-fetched because, as the name suggests, it is the result of the Corona crisis. In order to protect our own health, we have to stay at home: work at home, don't visit family and friends, don't travel, don't do group sports and so on. We are, as it were, chained to the house. And boredom makes us eat more, especially sweets.

How do we handle this?

Eat healthily and exercise, of course. But that is easier said than done.

Healthy eating is not limited to choosing the right food, i.e. what you eat, but it must also be combined with an appropriate dietary pattern: how much you eat, how often you eat, when you eat, etc. All this affects your body and therefore your mind.

In addition, it is important to get enough exercise. Because we don't get out much, if at all, we sit down a lot. We sit at our computer to work; we sit on the couch to watch TV or read, etc. A brisk walk after lunch can do wonders, even if it's only for half an hour!

Tips

Think for a moment about your diet, your eating pattern and your lifestyle. What do you think you need to work on?

- Are you eating the wrong things?

- Are you choosing the right foods but not eating them regularly or at the right times?

Even if you exercise a lot, the wrong food or diet can still have a negative effect on your body. Conversely, it may be the case that you eat very healthily in an appropriate diet, but if you exercise little or not at all, you will not achieve the desired result.

And your mind can only be healthy if your body is too. So it's high time to work on it!
